Build WELL, live well

Mi2 is fully committed to WELL, the global movement to enhance people's health and well-being in buildings.

We spend more than 90% of our time in buildings. The physical environments in which we live, work and relax have a profound impact on our well-being, including our mood, the food we eat, and even our quality of sleep.

Ninety percent of office workers in a recent survey said the quality of their office environment affects their attitude towards work – be it positive or negative.

Buildings, therefore, have a crucial impact on health and well-being. The International WELL Building Institute (IWBI), a public benefit corporation, is driving a global movement to enhance people's health and well-being in buildings and communities. Through its WELL Building Standard, an industry-leading certification program for buildings, interior spaces and communities that support and advance human health and wellness, the IWBI has established a comprehensive code of conduct to ensure human health in the built environment.

The product of six years of research and development, the WELL Building Standard represents a comprehensive approach to health and well-being by focusing on seven key areas:

Air: Optimizing indoor air quality to ensure smooth, easy breathing.

Water: Promoting and improving access to high-quality water sources.

Nutrition: Encouraging healthy eating and limiting access to unhealthy food and drink options.

Light: Maximizing the benefits of sunlight and lighting system design, ensuring alertness, enhancing the living and working experience, and improving sleep quality.

Fitness: Incorporating sports and fitness into everyday life.

Comfort: Ensuring a quiet, efficient and comfortable working environment.

Mind: Optimizing cognition and emotional health through design, technology and healing strategies.

Obtaining WELL certification is a guarantee that buildings and projects prioritize health and well-being and are at the forefront of sustainable building design.
